Welcome to Carmichael Building

In the heart of Durham, NC, the historic Carmichael Building has transitioned from a Liggett and Myers tobacco warehouse to a modern hub for Duke University's Molecular Physiology Institute. Constructed in 1926, it once stood as a key storage facility alongside the Bullington and White warehouses. By 1982, the Bullington evolved into condominiums, heralding a resurgence of downtown residential life. In 2011, Duke University's acquisition of the Carmichael Building underscored its dedication to Durham's architectural legacy.
